Chalet Julena...
Chalet Julena is in a quiet location less than 2km (five minutes drive) from the busy market town of Thônes, and 20 minutes from great skiing in La Clusaz. You'll find a great choice of shops, restaurants and a good weekly market in Thônes, as well as a couple of large supermarkets.
This spacious 4-star chalet sleeps up to 12 guests in five bedrooms with four bathrooms, and has been tastefully decorated to reflect its mountain setting. It's a great choice for family groups, who will appreciate the brand-new indoor swimming pool, the large garden, the flexible sleeping accommodation and the games room.
Despite being so close to the town, Chalet Julena has great uninterrupted views over the Montremont valley, which are best enjoyed from the hot tub on the sunny terrace. It's the perfect place to soak up the sun after a day skiing, hiking or biking in the mountains.
A visit to the beautiful medieval town of Annecy, 30 minutes drive away, is a must – explore the markets, enjoy lunch by the canal or perhaps a cruise on the beautiful lake.
About the property...
There's plenty of room for up to 12 guests at the delightful Chalet Julena, which is set over three floors.
The main living area on the ground floor takes up the full width of the chalet, and makes the most of the wonderful valley views. Centred around an impressive wood-burning stove, there's a large three-sided sofa and chairs around the television, a huge dining table where you can all sit down to eat together, and a fully-equipped kitchen with a large range oven and a breakfast bar. Sliding doors open onto the sunny furnished terrace and hot tub, which overlook the garden, pétanque court and the valley views. On a sunny day, enjoy eating outside or just stretching out on the sofa with a book – retractable blinds mean you can choose between sun and shade.
An indoor glass pool with counter-current and beautiful views over the surrounding mountains was also recently added.
There are two bedrooms at the back of the chalet – a double room with a shower room and separate toilet, and another room with three single beds and an en-suite shower room.
The remaining three bedrooms are on the first floor – a double room which can be arranged with a kingsize or twin beds; a double room with an en-suite shower room and another triple room with three single beds. There's also a separate bathroom.
When you return to the chalet at the end of an exhilarating day in the mountains, there's a ski room and boot rack on the lower ground floor. Leave your kit there and head for the sauna, where you can relax and unwind. There's also a treatment room for visiting therapists, an exercise area and shower room, and a useful laundry room. Younger guests will particularly appreciate the games room and home cinema, complete with darts and table football.
About the area...
Chalet Julena is in a great location to make the most of the winter sports offered in the Aravis area. Just 20 minutes from the ski stations of La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand, you can ski somewhere new every day. Parking is available at the ski stations, or use the network of ski buses, which are free with your Aravis ski pass or the Carte d’Hôte.
Cross-country skiers will discover a great variety of trails from nearby Saint-Jean-de-Sixt – pick up a map from the village tourist office.
Non-skiers are particularly well catered for at Chalet Julena which is a five-minute drive from Thônes, where you will find plenty of shops and restaurants and a cinema. If you fancy exploring the mountains, try snow-shoeing, sledging, dog-sledding and sleigh rides.
In the summer, a holiday at Chalet Julena offers you the best of both worlds – mountain adventure and lakeside relaxation. The Alpine resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand are less than 20 minutes away and you could be at the beautiful village of Menthon-Saint-Bernard on the banks of Lake Annecy in 15 minutes. Annecy itself is just a little further away.
Saint-Jean-de-Sixt is one of the few places where you can try Bun-J ride, a cross between ski jumping and bungee jumping. Other more traditional pastimes are available too – marked footpaths crisscross the mountains, or you can explore by mountain bike or on horseback.
There are indoor and outdoor swimming pool complexes in Thônes, Le Grand-Bornand and La Clusaz, or if you're looking for something a little more challenging, there are climbing schools, via ferrata routes, tree-top adventure parks, canyoning, white-water rafting and paragliding all nearby.

Important: please note that if you book Chalet Julena and Ferme du Cortet together, the living spaces in both chalets are not large enough to accommodate a group of 24 people.
For owners of electric vehicles, a flat-rate contribution of €50 towards the cost of the electricity needed to recharge the batteries will be charged on site when you arrive at the chalet.
The chalet is non festive, thank you for respecting the neighbourhood.
The owner requires a €1,000 damage and excess cleaning guarantee to be set up before arrival. No funds are taken or blocked on your card. Your card details are securely held for up to 14 days after departure. If no charge is required, they will be deleted.

Chalet Julena is a five-bedroom chalet for 12, with four bathrooms. We love its location just outside the busy market town of Thônes – despite being so close to shops and restaurants, you still get great views, a large garden and a superb furnished terrace with a hot tub.
You'll need a car to get around, but you're perfectly placed to explore the area, with easy access to the ski resorts of La Clusaz, Le Grand-Bornand and Manigod. It's also an easy drive to the lakeside town of Annecy, the castle at Menthon and some great golf courses.
The chalet has been well designed for holiday guests, and particularly for families. There are two triple rooms ideal for younger guests, who can also enjoy their own space in the cinema/games room on the ground floor.
There are five bathrooms too, including the shower room in the well-being area on the ground floor.
The beautiful terrace and garden is a real bonus, whenever you decide to visit. The hot tub is great in the winter, particularly when it's snowing, the indoor pool will be perfect for taking a swim and relaxing all year long, and the furnished terrace is an ideal place for stargazing.
In the summer, kids can enjoy the run of the garden and there's a pétanque court too.
We think this is a great choice for a group with varied interests – if you don't want to spend all of your days skiing, there's so much more to explore within an easy drive of Chalet Julena.

Built in 2003 on family land, Chalet Julena was our cosy retreat for many years, where we shared countless cherished moments with our two daughters over 17 wonderful years.
Today, a new chapter begins for our chalet. Following the purchase of a second property in the commune of Manigod, we have decided to share the charm of Chalet Julena by offering it for seasonal rental through OVO Network.
To provide our guests with an unforgettable experience, we have fully renovated the chalet to accommodate up to 12 guests in a warm and comfortable setting.
You will find a complete wellness area, with a hot tub, sauna, and now a heated indoor pool, perfect for relaxing all year round. A relaxation area with home cinema, table football, and various games will delight guests of all ages.
Sports enthusiasts will appreciate our well-equipped fitness room (including a cross-trainer, gym mat, and exercise ball).
Outdoors, enjoy a spacious area with a petanque court for adults and a swing for children – all in a peaceful and serene environment just 2 km from the centre of Thônes, 10 km from the ski resorts, and 20 km from Annecy.
Our daughters will be happy to offer a babysitting service upon request. And during the winter season, Julie also offers alpine skiing lessons for both children and adults through the ESF of Manigod.
